Although one would be certain about the origin of carrot cake’s recipe, it seems that the first publication of the dessert’s how to guide, was made in a French cookbook, published in England in 1827.
Later in the same century we find a recipe for carrot cake in Switzerland. However, no one believed that today the carrot cake would be one of the most known cakes. The recipe became popular during World War II in Britain when many ingredients were limited while carrots were abundant.
